Tarte is the brand known for their natural ingredients and high quality of products. After reading numerous reviews on Sephora about their skincare, I decided to give it a try. I was attracted by those bamboo packaging, which makes their skincare line look so cute. I bought them in June 2014 and was using them almost every day. So now I think that I am ready to give a proper and honest opinion.
This oil is one of the Tarte's bestsellers,it comes in different sizes and packagings and it claims to be a miracle in a bottle. It promises to hydrate,rejuvenate,even-tone the complexion and do all this without greasy feel.
Oil has only two ingredients which are Passiflora edulis seed oil and tocopherol.
Packaging is really unique and beautiful, I am in love with the bamboo box and purple glass bottle. It's really easy and comfortable to use,all you need to do is just to press the golden button on the top of the lid. And the dropper itself works really well,so I always get the exact amount of oil I need.
As you can see I've used only half of the bottle after 8 months of using it. Usually I use 2-3 drops for my super dry, sensitive skin. Im most bad cases, for example when i have dry patches I use 5 drops.
Surprisingly this oil is really lightweight and absorbs quickly to the skin. After it just need to apply your moisturiser cream and after 5 minutes you can go sleep without the fear to stick with a pillow.
So what it does to the skin? The main function of this product is to give a moisture,so don't expect other miracles from it. It removes dry patches in one nights, has slight soothing effect, but I haven't noticed any powerful brightening or whitening effect. It will even out complexion over period of time, nothing extraordinary. It will not remove your pimples, but it will not give you a new ones, which is very important for me. For me it became my best friend in my nighttime skincare routine.
2. Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment
Next item I tried was an eye cream and it is another Tarte's popular product. It comes in the same bamboo/purple glass theme packaging. It is quite small jar and has only 10ml of cream inside.
Ingredients for those who are interested:
water/aqua/eau, glycerin, butylene glycol, mangifera indica (mango) seed butter, dimethicone, hydrogenated castor oil isostearate, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, pentaerythrityl tetraethylhexanoate, polyglyceryl-10 pentastearate, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, behenyl alcohol, caprylyl methicone, cetearyl alcohol, panthenol, dipropylene glycol, squalane, alcohol, sodium polyacrylate, sodium stearoyl lactylate, cyclopentasiloxane, caprylyl glycol, mica, phenoxyethanol, sodium acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, tocotrienols, isohexadecane, elaeis guineensis (palm) oil, tocopheryl acetate, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, glycosphingolipids, hordeum vulgare extract, dimethiconol, adenosine, phospholipids, polysorbate 80, tocopherol, disodium EDTA, sodium hyaluronate, passiflora edulis seed oil, beta-glucan, glycosaminoglycans, ascorbyl palmitate, retinyl palmitate, titanium dioxide (CI 77891).
Personally I use it only at night, few times a week and it does a really good job in hydrating and giving you that well-rested look. The cream is really thick,so a little goes a very long way. After 8 months of usage I still have a bit of cream in the jar. The only thing negative about the eye cream is the unhygienic packaging, because I prefer the tube packaging for the creams and lotions.
I am happy that I tried Tarte's products but I didn't have that WOW effect like from SK II or Korean skincare. I don't think that I will repurchase, because I can get better working products for a cheaper price.
I bought them from Sephora Malaysia for 60$(oil) and 40$(eye cream).
